Stress. That one word can send us into a frenzy. Stress does play an important role in our lives. It helps us get out of dangerous situations and lights a fire under us to get things done. However, many of us are “stressed out” all the time. This leads to chronic stress, which impacts our physical and mental health.
Are you stressed?
There are a few ways in which you can self-assess whether you're dealing with too much stress in your life. Look for typical physical symptoms of stress, such as:
- Low energy
- Aches, pains and tense muscles all over
- Upset stomach and associated symptoms such as nausea, diarrhea, or constipation
- Loss of appetite or binge eating
- Chest pain and increased heart beat
- Insomnia or trouble sleeping well and regularly
- Frequent colds and infections
